Back To Basics: Colors of the Craft
Everybody has to start somewhere, so why not start with the absolute basics? Today, we launch the first post in a series that I like to call "Back To Basics". This series will be all about what many would consider to be the basics of magic and, while meant to be for beginner witches, may also be helpful to more skilled witches who just need reminders of where they started. So let's start simple, the colors of magic.
White is the Color of purity, innocence, and sincerity. Many choose to wear white clothes when doing rituals of cleansing or unions.
Yellow is the color of the wind. Like the winds, the color yellow is associate with the mind and its many aspects such as intellect, creativity, inspiration and memory. It is common to use yellow candles for creativity and confidence boosting spells and rituals.
Orange is used for spells of prosperity and good fortune. It's very common to see orange candles used in power building rituals and the color orange is worn for courage.
Pink is the color of love. It is connected to love in all forms and all types of love spells.
Purple is the favored color of psychics. It is worn when trying to promote psychic energies and is used in healing and protection rituals. It is also common to be the favorite color of people with high emotional sensitivity.
Blue is the color of kindness and is connected with water in all forms. The color blue also represents truth, wisdom, tranquility and patience. Very often used in truth spells.
Green, unsurprisingly, is associated with money and finance. It is the color of the Earth and nature. Used for growth spells and connections to nature spirits.
Silver is used to neutralize negative influences.
Black is a color of banishing. Used for many rituals meant to banish or absorb negative energies and for reversing curses.
Red is the color of passion. It is favored by those who show affinity to fire as this is the color of the element. Red is also associated with anger and fury.
I hope somebody finds this helpful. Be sure to comment if you have anything you wish to add and keep an eye out for the next post in our "Back to Basics" series.
